Every Sunday I try out a new recipe. Usually I bake, since I seem to fail at any other kind of cooking. So this last Sunday I tried out a recipe called individual shortcakes. I used blackberries for the fruit in the middle, topped it with whipped cream, and drizzled some blackberry juice on top. I was happy with how it turned out!

I joined a basketball team this semester, and we have played 2 games so far! We won the first game, lost the second, so ... I think we're doing pretty well. This picture pretty much illustrates my contribution to the team: standing there, not really doing much, looking away from the hoop. The other girls on my team all played in high school, they know actual plays, and they use actual basketball lingo. Needless to say, everytime we play, I feel like a complete idiot, and I think to myself, "How did I end up on this team? Oh yeah, my roommate forced me into it." So the moral of the story is: Don't be on a basketball team unless you know how to play, and don't let your roommate to force you into embarrassing situations.

Integration Bee
Last night I participated in an integration bee.... which is like a spelling bee except with integrals, such as the one shown below:
I am aware that my particpation in this integration bee demonstrates my complete nerd-ishness, but it was really a lot of fun. Calculus 2 is my favorite class and I am going to be sad when this semester is over.
If anyone who reads this blog knows how to solve integrals, I would be happy to share the answer to this one. :)

dating is stressful!
yikes... this weekend I went on three dates. One on Friday, one on Saturday, and one on Sunday. All with different guys. I am not even kidding. This never happens to me. Haha It was a lot of fun! I have never dated so much in my life... I must have finally gotten rid of that weird smell I had in high school or something. I think the funniest thing about my adventures this weekend is that all three guys I went on dates with are left-handed. I must have a thing for lefties.
Friday's date consisted of driving out to the middle of nowhere to light a fire and stand around it, freezing to death. Haha ok it was more fun than that... we ate tinfoil dinners too.
On Saturday I shot a gun for the first time! We went shooting out at the sand dunes, and it was a lot of fun. My arm is really sore though. We used shotguns and we shot at clay pidgeons. And if you were wondering, that is me in the picture. haha ok not really. I would never wear camo.On Sunday I went to Idaho Falls with a guy to the visitors' center at the temple. We watched the Joseph Smith movie and a movie about President Monson.

Guess what I did?
I made a pie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry Carissa, I couldn't resist. Actually, it's called a Missouri Mud Pie. My friend Nicole and I got together tonight and decided to try a new recipe. We chose the mud pie pictured above for obvious reasons: maximum chocolate consumption.
This pie is basically chocolate and whipped topping mixed together, in an oreo cookie pie crust. On top, we put caramel, whipped cream, a chopped up Hershey's bar, and toffee bits. We probably could have made it look prettier, but the main point of making this pie was for us to eat it. Actually, in this picture, it looks quite disgusting. Sorry about that.

Mandy and I have failed at blogging I think.
The only reason I have such a hard time keeping up my blog is because I never have anything cool to say. Never. Either that or I'm too lazy to write about all the cool things that happen to me.
Well, summer semester at BYU-I ended in July, and I've been home ever since. I got a 4.0 this semester, which was my goal, so I'm really excited about that. Oh and I ran a 5k! It was really fun. This is me after the 5k:
Ok now this next picture is a more realistic view of me after the 5k:
I can't think of much else to say... that about sums it up!Sunday, May 31, 2009
Mother's Weekend
This weekend my mom, Aunt Heather, and Sara came to visit Mandy and me at college. They stayed at our apartment and it was great! We went to dinner, got 60 cent drinks from Horkley's, went to the splash park at Porter Park, did Mary Kay makeovers, and ate chocolate melting lava cake or whatever it's called. Here's a picture of us at Gringos for dinner last night. Hahaha hope you like the picture mom. Our moms took us shopping for groceries! Isn't that nice?

Wisdom Teeth
This is me the morning before I got my wisdom teeth out! Now watch the transformation from a semi-normal looking girl into a hideous beast!
This is me in the waiting room at the oral surgeon's office.
This is me a couple hours after having surgery. not bad, right?
Ok this is the morning after. The left side of my face is the only side that's swollen.
