pictures for mom

Just a few pictures of the rolls and breadsticks I made, along with the enchiladas my roommate and I made. I tried to live up to the standard my mom has set, but I didn't quite make it... I came really close though. :)

I give myself a capital F for Failure

So... I decided that I'm just not a blogger. I gave up on my blog about 3 months ago. But then, tonight, Carissa made me read her blog and it made me want to be the kind of person that blogs. (Thank you Carissa.) I think the problem is that:

1) I hate the background of my blog. And I'm sure it would be simple to get a new one, but honestly, that takes too much effort.

2) I have nothing to write about. Sometimes, during the day, I have moments when I think, "Hey! This would be great to write about in my blog!" But by the time I get home and sit down to write about it, I either have no idea what was so great about the moment, or I completely forget what the moment was.

3) I hate writing. I love to read... especially other people's blogs. But it honestly takes all my will-power to write something of worth. This is why I am a math major, and not an english major.

4) I get distracted easily. During this post alone, I have done 3 math problems, texted Carissa, set up my cat on a date with my roommate's cat, and daydreamed about Nick Jonas (not really). So by the time I get ready to hit "publish post," it just doesn't seem like a good idea anymore.

So anyway, these are all the reasons I am a failure.

I found some really old sugar cubes when I was cleaning out my closet... Don't ask me why I keep sugar cubes in my closet... and so I decided to put them to good use. Rachel and I made the Bountiful Temple out of sugar cubes and I think we did an amazing job! haaaahahaha our temple making skills are sweet!

Every Sunday I try out a new recipe. Usually I bake, since I seem to fail at any other kind of cooking. So this last Sunday I tried out a recipe called individual shortcakes. I used blackberries for the fruit in the middle, topped it with whipped cream, and drizzled some blackberry juice on top. I was happy with how it turned out!

I joined a basketball team this semester, and we have played 2 games so far! We won the first game, lost the second, so ... I think we're doing pretty well. This picture pretty much illustrates my contribution to the team: standing there, not really doing much, looking away from the hoop. The other girls on my team all played in high school, they know actual plays, and they use actual basketball lingo. Needless to say, everytime we play, I feel like a complete idiot, and I think to myself, "How did I end up on this team? Oh yeah, my roommate forced me into it." So the moral of the story is: Don't be on a basketball team unless you know how to play, and don't let your roommate to force you into embarrassing situations.

Integration Bee

Last night I participated in an integration bee.... which is like a spelling bee except with integrals, such as the one shown below:
I am aware that my particpation in this integration bee demonstrates my complete nerd-ishness, but it was really a lot of fun. Calculus 2 is my favorite class and I am going to be sad when this semester is over.
If anyone who reads this blog knows how to solve integrals, I would be happy to share the answer to this one. :)

dating is stressful!

yikes... this weekend I went on three dates. One on Friday, one on Saturday, and one on Sunday. All with different guys. I am not even kidding. This never happens to me. Haha It was a lot of fun! I have never dated so much in my life... I must have finally gotten rid of that weird smell I had in high school or something. I think the funniest thing about my adventures this weekend is that all three guys I went on dates with are left-handed. I must have a thing for lefties.

Friday's date consisted of driving out to the middle of nowhere to light a fire and stand around it, freezing to death. Haha ok it was more fun than that... we ate tinfoil dinners too.
On Saturday I shot a gun for the first time! We went shooting out at the sand dunes, and it was a lot of fun. My arm is really sore though. We used shotguns and we shot at clay pidgeons. And if you were wondering, that is me in the picture. haha ok not really. I would never wear camo.

On Sunday I went to Idaho Falls with a guy to the visitors' center at the temple. We watched the Joseph Smith movie and a movie about President Monson.
